harvest of the Weaving Futures Ateliers

During the Weaving Futures Festival, we presented the different outcomes of the ateliers that we organised in 2021 and 2022. The different works engaged in a spatial dialogue in A Gadder house. It was the first time that the collection of unique wearables were presented that were made during the Textile-ateliers. From bags to baskets, from dresses to other upcycled textiles; each item was for sale and all benefit went directly to the makers. Over the course of the exhibition visitors and the artists co-developed the installation ‘Weaving a House’ with ropes of local 2nd hand textiles.
In addition paintings by Fadi Chéquryah were presented and there was a photo exhibition by Nael Nassan. Together they had made the central piece, the film of 'A Mountain of Small things' by and Nael Nassan giving a unique and intimate insight in the exchanges that took place during Weaving Futures project.
